概要
この古民家は栄区鍛冶ヶ谷の小岩井家が使用してきた家屋です。小岩井家は鎌倉幕府創設以来、46代目との伝承があります。小岩井家も鍛冶ヶ谷村の 名主を勤めていました。極めて古い家系で建物も貴重な文化財であります。地域的にも鎌倉街道に面し、鎌倉との関わりが深く、かつて小岩井六郎兵衛は圓覺寺洪川老師 に謁し禅門に入り弟子の礼を取る、多く法を学び、老師遂に居士号、曰く豊翁を授け られました。又同寺住職をして同家の横井戸は名水であると言わしめたと言われています。
同家の菩提寺は證菩提寺です。鎌倉幕府滅亡の時に、此の地でも極めて悲惨な光景がありました、この頃小岩井家も此の土地を離れ難を逃れ、江戸時代に此の土地に戻ってきました。 当地域は黒船来航に際し沿岸防備などに関わりが深く古文書にも明らかです。又同家はペリー来航の折り、万ーペリーが久里浜から出立などある時は休息所として使用されるかも知れないとして座敷の手入れをされたとの話があります。記録として 発見されていまので、さだかではありませんが、伝聞として残っている様です。
此の地は３度山火事があり焼けた家がありますが、同家は火災から免れました。 又関東大震災では多くの家が倒壊しましたが、同家は被害を受けなかったと伝えられています。

About Hongo Fujiyama Park "Old Private House"
This building was constructed approximately 170 years ago in a traditional Japanese residential architectural style.
It was built using natural materials such as wood, bamboo, paper, reed, soil, stone, and a small amount of metal, which was considered expensive at the time.
The building has a total floor area of 154㎡ and consists of eight rooms, each separated by sliding doors made of wood and paper.
By removing all of these sliding doors, the space can be transformed into a hall suitable for ceremonies such as weddings or funerals.
This building has been designated as a Tangible Cultural Property by the City of Yokohama.
The designation was granted because the former owner served as the village governor, many historical documents have been preserved within the house, and the architectural style is considered historically valuable.
It is now open to the public as a cultural heritage site.
